Calorie Counter
The amount of calories each day depends on your age, weight, height and activity level.
How many calories do I need?
In general, adults (who are regularly active) need on average 2,000 kcal a day for women and 2,500 kcal a day for men. However, we are all individual and our personal calorie requirements can be slightly higher or lower than this depending on your age, starting weight, height and typical activity level.
Remember, calories (as kcal or kJ) is only a count of energy used or consumed. The nutritional quality of calories is equally as important, for example 50 calories from sweets compared to 50 calories from lean chicken. For more information about balancing a healthy diet click here.
